This is the website of the Stichting Delineavit and Sculpsit, founded in Leiden on 17 November 1999 and based in The Hague, The Netherlands. The start of the periodical in 1989 was an initiative of three curators and teachers at the Leiden University Print Room (since 2002 part of the Special Collections of Leiden University Library), and was until 1999 published by the foundation 'Vrienden van het Prentenkabinet der Rijksuniversiteit te Leiden' (Friends of the Leiden University Print Room). The foundation is a non-commercial organisation conforming to Dutch law and aims at publishing the periodical of the same name as well as books related to Dutch and Flemish Old Master prints and drawings until around 1850. The foundation is hosted by the Netherlands Institute for Art History (RKD = Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie) in The Hague. This website offers information on both the foundation and its publications as well as other activities. In addition, it intends to serve as a stepping stone to institutions in this field, i.e. museums, print rooms, libraries, research institutes and relevant periodicals, with hyperlinks to various websites of interest. As such, it is not only intended for scholars and collectors, but for all those interested in Dutch and Flemish Old Master Drawings and Prints.
