The Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam, has published a catalogue of a substantial part of its drawings collection. In 1998 the Cornelis Ploos van Amstel Knoef Society Foundation donated more than 4,000 drawings, sketchbooks and albums to the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. This impressive collection of early nineteenth-century Dutch drawings was brought together by the connoisseur Jan Knoef (1896-1948) and C.J. baron Schimmelpenninck van der Oije (1906-1987). This book includes essays on the origins and history of the collection and on the function of drawing in the nineteenth century.

The catalogue raisonné of the collection can be found on the enclosed CD.
