Hamburg (Kunsthalle) 2011
With close to 1,400 works on paper, the Kunsthalle owns one of the world’s most renowned collections of Dutch drawings from the years 1450-1850. Nearly all of the most important Dutch and Flemish draftsmen are represented here with works characteristic of their practice.
The publication of this outstanding collection catalogue is accompanied with the exhibition Bruegel, Rembrandt & Co which shows a selection of over 100 outstanding drawings. The entire spectrum of four hundred years of Dutch drawings is on view in Hamburg for the first time (see more on the museum’s website). The exhibition was first presented at the Fondation Custodia, Paris, in the Spring of 2011 (see more).
