The Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam (Netherlands) has appointed Dr. Albert J. Elen (47) as successor to senior curator Bram Meij, who will retire on 1 May next year. This will be the third successive curatorship for Albert Elen, who studied art history and received his PhD at the University of Leiden, worked at the Dutch Royal Library and the Netherlands Office for Arts and at present is deputy chief inspector of cultural heritage at the Netherlands Ministry of Education, Culture and Science in The Hague. Albert Elen will head the Boijmans Print Room as from 1 October next.
