Carel van Tuijll van Serooskerken (52) has been chosen the successor of Francoise Viatte as head of the Print Room of the Louvre. He is the first non-French curator ever in the Louvre, since a law barring nominations of foreign candidates was abolished recently. Carel van Tuijl has been chief curator of the Print Room of Teylers Museum inHaarlem since 1984. He is the author of the catalogue of Italian Drawings. His appointment at the Louvre is effective 1 January 2005.
