Julian Brooks moves to The Getty

Dr. Julian Brooks (34) of the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford has been appointed Assistant Curator of Italian Drawings at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles. Julian Brooks received his PhD at the University of Oxford in 1999 with a monographic thesis on the drawings of Andrea Boscoli. Articles by his hand have been published in Master Drawings, The Burlington Magazine and Apollo. His farewell-exhibition catalogue for Oxford is Graceful and True. Drawing in Florence c. 1600 (Oxford-London-Nottingham 2003-2004). Brooks’ appointment is effective from 1 February 2004.
